Clothing

Rough and tumble clothes are very much in order at the Preschool. We encourage long pants for the girls as well as the boys so that they will be more comfortable in their play. All removable clothing must be marked with some means of identification.

Family Program

We believe that:

  1. The family is important in any major program for development of the child.
  2. The first years of a child's life are the most important ones for developing attitudes and emotions.
  3. Parents will be helped in ways of guiding their child to reach his/her fullest potential.
  4. Children need a "community of faith" in which they and their parents can live together.

Therefore, these experiences are available for parents of the church preschool children.

  1. Beginning conference between Director and parent when a child is enrolled.
  2. Periodic conferences between teacher and parents throughout the year.
  3. Parent observation in the Preschool (no observation on rainy days.)
  4. Child/Family programs and events planned throughout the school year.
  5. A selected library relating to parent/child issues or concerns.

Health

A health certificate and a T.B. test will be required for enrollment. A Daily check will be made by the Director. If the child should become ill during the morning he/she is isolated immediately and the parents are contacted to take him/her home. After an absence due to a contagious or serious illness, the child must present a doctor's certificate stating that he/she is ready to return to school.

Enrollment

Enrollment is open to all children 2 years 6 months to 5 years. Registration fees are to be paid upon enrollment of a child and is not refundable.

Our Goals

  • To provide an enriching experience for each child as he lives and learns in a Christian atmosphere.
  • To provide an atmosphere in which each child is lovingly respected and accepted as an individual and is positively guided in the development of a good self image.
  • To stimulate curiosity and an awareness of the world around her.
  • To encourage imagination and creativity by providing experiences with many different art media, musical activities, as well as dramatic play.
  • To help a child learn to develop her whole self; emotional, physical, social, intellectual and creative.
  • Our entire curriculum is designed to further these goals. The staff continually observes each child's growth and development, often revising lesson plans to meet changing needs.
